Continuing with the exploration of plants as an ingredient that Chef Alejandro Ruiz is doing, on this occasion brings us a delicious recipe to enjoy the popular tofu that besides tasting delicious has a high nutritional value.

The recipe in question is about the Tofu Fried with Korean Sauce and for its successful preparation, the ingredients to obtain are the following:
Tarnished
– 3 cups of regular flour
– 1 tbsp ground cumin
– 1 tbsp ground pepper
– 1 tbsp garlic powder
– 3 tbsp olive oil
– 2 tbsp of paprika powder
– 1 ½ cup of water
Dip
– 2 tbsp gochujang
– 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
– 1 tsp ground black pepper
– ¼ cup tamari sauce (or soy)
– 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
– 3d garlic
– 2 tbsp cornstarch
The process begins with draining and thoroughly drying the block of tofu, then cutting it uniformly with your hands and letting it rest.
For the dry breading, mix 1 ½ cups of flour with 1 tablespoon of cumin, 1 tablespoon of ground pepper, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of paprika powder. Mix everything with a fork or whisk and incorporate all the ingredients.
For the liquid or glue, you need to pour 1 ½ cup of flour with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and incorporate everything with a fork until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

To continue with the tofu, you need to take it with one hand and pass it through the flour and spice mixture while with the other hand you take the already floured tofu and pass it through the liquid mixture. This step should be repeated 2 to 3 times until it acquires a crispy consistency and then leave it to rest on a refrigerated tray or tightly covered.
Now for the sauce, pour all the ingredients except the cornstarch into a blender to make it and once obtained, pour the sauce over medium heat in a frying pan for one minute and when it first boils, add the tablespoons of cornstarch dissolved in the same amount of water (3 tablespoons of cornstarch for 3 tablespoons of water).
When pouring the cornstarch, keep stirring so that the sauce takes on a thick and delicious texture!
Finally, pour oil for frying into a frying pan and when it reaches 180g, add the tofu so that it forms a golden, crispy layer, which will let you know that it is ready.

It is recommended to mix it with hot sauce and accompany it with fresh chives as well as pair it with a delicious fresh and fizzy drink.
Bon appetit with a tasty, cruelty-free meal!
