In a world that sometimes relapses into sensationalism and in which negative approaches abound, such as images of death and poverty, it is the approach of the lens of Gustavo Fernández Coria the one who decides to focus on portraying those things that are exquisite in life.

There is so much beauty in the world; the key is knowing how to observe it. Such is the aesthetic that abounds in San Miguel that the photographer has been coming here for five decades since he was a child, seeking to capture the streets, doors, art, and corners that make our city the most beautiful in the world.

With analog training but using Nikon digital cameras, Fernández Coria plays with elements such as overexposure and underexposure to create the most interesting images in a never-ending process of experimentation.

This process has led him to exhibit in multiple places around the world, such as Chile and Argentina, and in large venues such as Bellas Artes, in addition to becoming a teacher of his art, whose secrets he is not afraid to share.

The San Miguelense Institute and the San Carlos Academy are some educational institutions that have been fortunate enough to have Gustavo teaching within their facilities and training the photographers of the future.

This sensitization of people's gaze toward beautiful things has become a life mission for the photographer whose area of expertise, so to speak, could be portraiture itself.

The photographer has a great facility for model portraits, and his expertise, play of color, and good atmosphere on his set are such that the models feel extremely comfortable and have no choice but to give their best for the lens.

Another area of research for Coria has been to portray the great Mexican murals by Siqueiros and Dr. Atl, to mention a few exponents of this great art.

We are sure that as long as Gustavo's lens is attentive, Saint Michael will continue to be the most beautiful place for everyone.
