UPCYCLING: REUSE AND LOOK AMAZING Meet GoldenLola and her sustainable fashion proposal

We all have a couple of clothes that we don't use because we no longer like them or they don't fit us, and what do we usually do with them? Many people throw them away, and in the best of cases they donate them to someone in need, give them to friends or sell them at affordable prices. But there is another alternative to make these clothes look like new again and have another chance to dress someone: upcycling.

Basically, this technique consists of recycling and reusing any item of clothing, no matter its fabric or shape, each part can be used again to create a completely new piece with a design proposal. That is what GoldenLola does, a brand created by Angela and Dolores that is based here in San Miguel and that you can find in the most prominent boutiques in the city.

Circular fashion has gained a lot of momentum in recent years, thanks to awareness about how harmful it is to buy fast fashion, which is practically what the vast majority of the population consumes, and which are low-quality garments that are designed to last a short time and that you buy again for the following season. GoldenLola seeks to combat this waste and pollution that the industry generates, by mainly reusing denim and patches to give life to unique pieces.

Learn more about them in this video that we prepared, where you can discover what their workshop is like and the process they follow to create the collections that you can find in places like Holy Leaf Boutique and Mail 24 Gallery
