San Miguel de Allende never ceases to surprise us. In addition to its tourist attractions, cultural events, landscapes and architecture, what makes this World Heritage city special is its people and, above all, its artists. In this eighth installment of Local Soundtrack we have Morganna Love, an international artist proudly from San Miguel.
Morganna Love is a singer and actress, who through the intensity of life has gained a wealth to create, as well as a wealth to interpret. She assures that “For an actor, it is more important to have life experiences than to study acting”. That's why her creative process comes from having many life experiences such as love, heartbreak, school experiences and more.
His musical career began at the age of four “They say that when someone dedicates themselves to music, it is because music chose us; and I think it is true.”
As Morganna grew up, she realized her fascination with music and when it came to choosing a career she had the clear goal of being a singer, but what was closest to her was starting out singing opera, although at that time her favorite genre was pop and she spent her time listening to Flans, Thalia and Paulina Rubio, these being her first musical references.
Morganna is currently working on her new album and it is completely pop. Her first album had several areas of opera, boleros and even reggaeton. But now her goal is to bring out this singer who always wanted to come out: a Morganna who has the whole party inside her, who loves to dance.
Currently her biggest influences are Thalia, Danna Paola, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Monica Naranjo, Rosalia and Lila Downs.
Throughout her journey in music, one of the greatest satisfactions she has had has been singing at the iconic Palacio de Bellas Artes and above all making many of her dreams come true thanks to her hard work and as a key she has not given up.
Who sings everything from opera to reggaeton for you? Well, none other than Morganna Love on her first album, and it's a material that has given her great satisfaction.
Within social causes, Morganna Love belongs to the LGBTQ+ community as a trans artist and is very aware of the responsibility she has when having a microphone in hand, which is why she says:
“We have to point out the things that are not right in our society. What I experienced was very dark and painful at the time, and the things I continue to experience on social media keep my feet on the ground and make me aware that I need to keep talking about my fight because there are still people who don’t have this well-formed shell and who can be brought down by hate. I need to let them know that they can do things and be whatever they want.”
