Guanajuato, leader in wine production
Did you know that Guanajuato is the 4th largest wine producer in Mexico? Its annual production reaches 700 thousand bottles and although we popularly know wines from other regions of the country such as those from the Guadalupe Valley in Baja California, the conditions of our state are also ideal for the production of this ancient elixir. Especially in the region of San Miguel de Allende, where we have renowned vineyards that fortunately offer us different experiences all year round.
Although the dates change a little every year, what is certain is that there are always grape harvests. But what is this tradition? Originally, the concept comes from the time of grape harvest, especially those that will be used for the production of wine and liquors. This custom dates back to 2000 years before Christ with the Egyptians, so imagine how many changes it has not gone through, maintaining its essence to this day. Throughout different countries and cultures, this tradition has been inherited, in which different producers meet to offer their products to the locals. In Spain, for example, this time is very popular and highly anticipated.
