Following the recent premiere of the third season of “Emily in Paris”, we took some creative liberties and re-imagined what it would be like if the enthusiastic marketer came to San Miguel and we are sure that she would fall in love with our charming city at every step.

Upon arrival, obviously Emily She wouldn't know how to speak fluent Spanish, so she would be guided by her infallible translator as well as the good will and hospitality of the Mexicans, who are characterized by our kindness as well as our mischievous instinct, so after teaching her the multiple uses that the word "chingona" can have, she would be ready to go abroad.
The first destination would be our typical Parish that never ceases to amaze locals and foreigners, although Emily's usual 15 cm heels would have to be replaced by some comfortable tennis shoes to be able to move along our cobbled streets.

Once in the center of San Miguel de Allende, we believe that the colors and textures of doors and windows would powerfully attract the attention of the sometimes “naive” girl from Chicago.
And when you look up at the sky you won't find imposing skyscrapers, but rather colorful confetti that waves to the rhythm of the wind and whose colorful movements we are sure you would find very flirtatious, since it is something very typical of Mexico.

Now, if we talk about gastronomy, I wouldn't miss French baguettes or French bakeries if I came across Panio, the bakery that has been making the hearts of San Miguel residents very happy with its use of sourdough and with French-Italian and Mexican recipes.
To have fun and find a dance partner, you don't have to wait to be asked to dance and you can take the initiative with partners who are over two metres tall: The impressive mojigangas who have the best rhythm of all as well as a prominent intelligence due to the great volume of their big heads.

So Emily would spend a nice day in what is considered by Condé Nast as the Best Small City in the World and would be so enchanted by all our local treasures that she would even change the username of her beloved blog to @emilyinsanmiguel
