Despite these rainy days we bring you issue no. 19 of “Local Soundtrack"a space in which month after month we share with you the musicians who give life to San Miguel de Allende with their diverse rhythms.

From the “Raindog Lounge” we had a pleasant conversation with the members of “Voz de Cajón” a trio band made up of Miguel Favero on percussion, Elicea Valdez plays the flute and sings, Federico Azuz is guitar and vocals.

The initial project was created 4 years ago and its name was “Viento Sur” with four members, creating the union of artists with Brazilian music.

As part of the story, Federico and Miguel had been working together for a long time as a duo and one day they met Elicea from Argentina, who made a great contribution to their musical interpretations. In this way they created a fusion between American rock, blues and Central American rhythms.

“Voz de cajón takes you on a musical journey that takes you to experience the rhythms of Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and many other countries, which also includes the band’s original music.”

If one day you want to hear this musical explosion created by “Voz de Cajón”, you can see them every Thursday at the Raindog Lounge starting at 8:00 pm, on Fridays at “Conde” and at different events that are announced on all their social networks.

“We are driven by making music and living off what we love, as well as transmitting great emotions to people.”

A “Voz de Cajón” show is an interesting experience, as you will hear music you have never heard before and it will make you get up from your spot to bring out your best moves.

From the perspective of the three musicians, the music scene in San Miguel de Allende has become very strong and cosmopolitan, you find great proposals in the bars.

“This city has grown a lot in the last 30 years, you can find all kinds of music, styles for all tastes, even very high-level artists. The arrival of new blood also pushes us to change and develop” Miguel said.

If you want to know more, follow these great artists on their social networks to find out about all their projects and upcoming performances.

We thank the members of “Voz de Cajón” for being part of this series of publications that aim to show off the musical talent found in San Miguel de Allende and thank you very much for reading us. Until next time!
