LOCAL SOUNDTRACK 07: GABY ESPINOSA; Blues, passion and style

We meet again! During these days of celebration in San Miguel de Allende, music was essential to give life to the streets and in Local Soundtrack We present to you the artists from the San Miguel scene who make up the playlist that makes the best small city in the world sound.

Today we bring you Gaby Espinosa, a singer from San Miguel who, through her music, has managed to travel to many places in the country and participated in major competitions.

LOCAL SOUNDTRACK GABY ESPINOSA

Gaby is a singer born in San Miguel de Allende with a career spanning more than fifteen years. She first became immersed in music when she was a child. One day she heard a Chabela Vargas album and discovered that she wanted to do something like that. She wanted to sing and she never stopped. Music became one of her greatest passions, especially Mexican music, with influences from Chabela Vargas and Olga Guillot with boleros.

One of the best experiences she has had musically speaking was when she was 19 years old and managed to compete in the second season of La Voz México in 2012 with Paulina Rubio as a coach, where she learned and studied a lot.

In his musical career he has had various collaborations with musicians from the local and national scene, but he is currently working hard on his personal project as well as on the creation of his own music.

A couple of years ago she made a very important rap song for the feminist movement, because she says that artists have a lot of responsibility to always have a microphone, they have the voice to be able to give a message. The protest song for Women's Day was titled "The Mission" and was entered into a composition contest and won first place.

What does Gaby Espinosa sound like?

Gaby is currently exploring the world of blues and jazz, and she says there is a lot of audience, personal growth, passion and emotions. She discovered that her voice has a lot of potential in this musical genre.

In recent months, she sings with a project called “Flowers family” it is a very talented foreign family with real blues, they perform songs by Ma Rainey, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and more, you can hear them every Wednesday at Sai-Kó at 8 pm and occasionally at Paprika.

When Gaby performs on stage she gives her all and concentrates, because the audience deserves the best; her greatest satisfaction is seeing the audience happy. Music has taken her to places and experiences she never imagined.

He concludes by saying that the key to excelling in music is to not stop and stay constant, invest a lot of time and effort, but above all have a lot of love for what you do.
