The entire territory throughout this entire time period is riddled with narratives that I will not even mention that are replicated within our communities, or towards our communities.

Could we call it war? These constant violent attacks from Patagonia to Alaska that have been passing for homo-hate for the last 20 years? I think war would be politically incorrect since as queers we lack a nation and unified representation. But if now they are trying to endorse violence through the state as is the case in Argentina, what are they trying to achieve? A genocide against us?

We cannot safely inhabit our territories. Do you understand the magnitude of that? Just because of who we are.

It is inconceivable to me that in 20 years things have not only not changed in terms of our collective security, but that we are radically moving in opposite directions in all parts of the world.

There is time for everything and perhaps pacifists like me will have periods of patience like this one.

Cartogram Americana is an approach to different issues that affect us as queer/trans/nb people in Mexico and Latin America. It is also, as Meli Marcow calls it, an artistic and emotional project of mine that I have been carrying out for 10 years.

I am Marian. I studied International Relations and graduated with a thesis on the body and queerness in 2007. The research has not only not stopped, but has deepened and invaded almost every corner of my life. You can learn more about me and what I do by visiting  loseriodemarianna@gmail.com
