Honoring the use of Levain & Co’s signature sourdough, the bakery selection brings a touch of European influence that has delighted hearts across San Miguel. Among the offerings are their renowned croissants, scones, and blueberry muffins, alongside gluten-free treats such as a rich cacao brownie and a vanilla concha topped with cream.

To continue the morning on a delicious note, Hortus offers a sourdough bread and protein dish served with avocado and organic tomato, with the option of adding a perfectly poached egg.

Egg lovers, meanwhile, will find plenty to rejoice about with the many ways Hortus prepares this breakfast staple. Choose from a Swiss chard and goat cheese omelet, traditional scrambled eggs elevated with jocoque, tomato, za’atar, and mint, or the beloved huevos rancheros, served with avocado and ranch-style beans.

For those craving more traditional Mexican fare, the menu naturally includes the house molletes, as well as green or red chilaquiles made to your liking. One of our favorites is the carnitas torta ahogada, finished with pickled onions and avocado for a deliciously indulgent bite.

At the mixology bar, the cocktail menu features the ever-popular mimosa, along with Campari and mezcal, as well as tequila infused with mint, tamarind, or lemongrass. For a creative non-alcoholic option, there is the Hortus Spritz, while the Hortus Paloma combines Campari, agave honey, and pineapple juice in a refreshing take on a classic.

The beverage selection is rounded out by beers from internationally recognized labels and a variety of wines, ranging from sparkling to rosé, sourced from celebrated regions including France, Italy, and San Miguel de Allende.
