Are you planning to visit us soon or are you looking for new places to discover in the city? You definitely have to check out these options.
In these difficult times we are going through, the community spirit has been strengthened among locals and visitors, who, to the extent possible, continue to support small and medium-sized businesses that are making a great effort to continue offering their products and services.
At Local SMA we aim to be a platform that gives exposure and support to San Miguel's commerce, especially now when it is most needed. So today we recommend some new places or places that have only recently opened, so you can spend a day full of discoveries in the city.
FOR BREAKFAST
Arcadia Cafe

Nothing, nothing in life says “good morning” like your favorite coffee and a delicious, well-presented breakfast. Now imagine if you accompany it with something sweet like bread or a crepe: heaven! We really like this coffee shop because its spaces combine the classic architecture and furniture of San Miguel with cute elements like pastel and neon-colored decor. Whether your plan is to take a few minutes before touring the city, or order something to go and drink while you walk, you have to try their variety of coffees and teas (like the matcha chai that is a sigh of relief for the heart). You can also visit it to eat or simply to enjoy a snack at any time of the day, as they have savory crepes and other dishes that will make you take a break from your routine. And you can’t pass up the opportunity to take a photo in front of this beautiful mural that reproduces the most famous street in SMA.

SHOPPING
Sentimental

For a long time, the world of designer stores and retail was almost entirely aimed at the female public, and it wasn't until a few years ago that designers and entrepreneurs began to create concept stores exclusively for the male consumer, and although fortunately we live in a more gender fluid era, there are men who have specific needs, especially when it comes to their image. That's why Sentimental arrived, the first alternative designer store for men in San Miguel. What can you find here? Incredible shirts and jackets, accessories like bags, wallets and glasses, and some decorative objects that will complement your space perfectly. Whether you're looking for something for yourself, your boyfriend, your friend or your dad, you'll surely find it here and it will be your best kept secret in SMA.

Thirteen Concept Store
With a concept focused on the home and wellness, Trece opened its doors to offer refined designer pieces ranging from clothing such as leather handbags to blankets, pajamas and decorative textiles that add style to any space in the house; and nutritional supplements, teas and organic products that will make you feel and look better every day. What we like most about this store is that you can get lost in its aisles because there is so much to see! Every corner has something that will catch your attention and you definitely won't be able to leave here without having treated yourself to a purchase.

TO EAT
Kookaburra

Yes to everything! If there is one thing we love –and we believe it is a shared feeling– it is good food. We are not talking about quantity, of course, but about a well-made, specialty dish created by expert hands with care and passion. That is why we like this restaurant in the Center, which also has a beautiful and super comfortable terrace to enjoy the food while taking in some sun and fresh air. We love that its menu is diverse and focused on Mediterranean cuisine: paellas at their best, cuts cooked to the degree you prefer, and seafood such as ceviches and a Kookaburra-style grilled octopus that is priceless. Ask for recommendations for special and house wines to end the afternoon delighting your senses.

FOR DINNER AND DRINK
Botanero Twenty-one

'Friends and fun' is the perfect concept to define this relatively new space in San Miguel, part of a fun restaurant-bar series that already had a presence in other cities in the country such as Culiacán and Aguascalientes. What is it about? Well, its name is very clear, but if you are not familiar with the concept of botanero, this is definitely the place to do it. Here you can order your favorite drinks, beer, cocktails or something from the menu to 'snack' or something more elaborate for a nice and delicious dinner. It is ideal for casual dates or to come with your best friends to get into the mood with music and enjoy the night view of San Miguel.
