Those happy, colorful childhood moments that have gradually lost their luster due to the shadows that come with adulthood still shine brightly for local artist Blanca Badillo, who has never stopped injecting color into her life and her artistic creation.

The San Miguelense has its workshop called Colorful Bag whose name borrows the initials of his family:
B of Bspear
TO of TOAndrew
G of GErardo
And it is precisely this union that inspires her to continue creating such beautiful and vibrant pieces, among which her iconic hand-painted brass hearts stand out.

For the artist, who comes from a family of artisans, it is vitally important to portray elements that give us identity as Mexicans, and one of her greatest dreams is to create a large-scale painting in which she can show several of the most significant elements of being Mexican, such as dancers, mojigangas, and mariachis.
Being able to capture something of our culture in her art and then have a foreigner take it to another distant place is something that gives the artist great satisfaction because it is as if they were taking a little piece of Saint Michael and our warmth to brighten other geographies.

What makes her pieces so striking is her extraordinary use of color, in which the artist, despite her family's advice that a piece is already finished, continues to add and add layers of color until she considers that she has managed to express its soul.
This euphoric cry from Blanca's inner child is contagious to anyone who hears it, as her mission is to convey something positive in a world that sometimes seems so dark. She often puts positive messages within her paintings to help anyone who reads them and who can resonate with them and motivate them despite going through a bad time.
“Going back to your childhood when you jumped, played, and saw colors” is what Blanca gives us.
