Science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and information and communication technologies (ICT) come together in this international competition that has been taking place since 1999 thanks to the initiative of Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, USA.
This autonomous robot festival takes place every year and Mexico is the only venue in all of Latin America. On this occasion, they have chosen San Miguel de Allende as the perfect city for the teams to meet and present their creations, competing in different categories such as Parade (fully autonomous robot models follow an indoor parade route while detecting other robots in front of them without human help), Exhibition, Games, RoboArt and more, where participants have to follow very meticulous rules to program, create and exhibit their robots.
It is also worth noting that this year the modality will be mixed, giving more teams from around the world the opportunity to materialize their knowledge, skills and talent into functional and fun robots. Team registrations closed some time ago but you can still join as a sponsor or volunteer by contacting the festival directly on its website: www.robofestmexico.org or writing to volunteers@robofestmexico.org.
