An iconic monument to self-care
Welcome to LOCAL TALKS, a series of interviews in which we want to introduce and recognize the most prominent and iconic personalities of San Miguel de Allende; from businesses that have been present for many generations to the characters that have become key pieces of the cultural and social panorama of the city.
We start the year with this series that we have prepared with much love and respect, and for this first installment we could not have chosen a better protagonist: La Botica de Santa Teresita.
This local business with 169 years of experience is already a monument in its own right, a monument to family wisdom and master formulas for personal care. Its unmistakable façade and, of course, the entire team – from the family itself to the collaborators who have passed through its counters – who serve it daily with nobility and pride, make it a local icon of San Miguel de Allende.
Great-grandmother Angela Rodriguez Moncada Garcia and Great-grandfather Eulalio Nava Martinez / Grandmother Maria Elena Nava Rodriguez
In this interview, Mr. Manuel Martínez Nava tells us about the beginnings of the pharmacy, how it was born with his grandmother Angelita, who passed the baton to her mother María Elena until it reached the hands of this seventh generation, which has taken advantage of new platforms and e-commerce to take the family business into a new era, rescuing those master formulas and offering innovative and natural products for the well-being of all.
We would like to thank the Martínez Nava family for their time and availability to make this first installment of LOCAL TALKS possible. Don't forget to follow La Botica de Santa Teresita on Instagram and Facebook, and discover everything they have available in their online store www.boticadesantateresita.com
