For this edition, we delve into the work of Alejandra Bombela, a gifted voice that envelops us in an atmosphere of nostalgia, elegance, and romance.
Originally from Guanajuato City, Alejandra's life has been an international journey that has taken her to California, France, and Mexico City. However, it was San Miguel that ultimately connected her with her true passion.
«"Music has been my driving force since I was little, but I had dedicated myself to other things for a while. San Miguel has treated me incredibly well; it's an amazing location and an exceptional cradle for artists."», Alejandra tells us with a smile that reflects her gratitude towards this city.
Inspired by legends like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Edith Piaf, Alejandra has cultivated a style that honors these great divas. Thanks to her years abroad, she is fluent in English and French, allowing her to connect deeply with San Miguel's international audience.
A little-known fact is that her technical training comes from a lineage of stars. After growing up in Querétaro, fate led her to California to study with a famous vocal coach whose students included figures like Michael Jackson and Jennifer Lopez.
As is often the case with stories destined to be, Alejandra arrived in San Miguel almost by chance. After a period in Canada working in fraud detection—a job that, although necessary, did not fulfill her spirit—an invitation from a former music teacher brought her to visit San Miguel.
«"I feel that everything in life comes at the right time when you let life guide you. Here I found my roommate, my musician friends and, above all, the opportunity to say: 'This is who I am'.".
This is how he began collaborating with local figures such as the renowned guitarist Poncho Blues, performing on iconic stages in the city such as Centanni, Paprika and Johnny's Piano Bar.
Although Alejandra is acclaimed for her interpretations of classics, her career as a composer is gaining unstoppable momentum. She was recently nominated by a committee in Querétaro in the categories of Best Original Composition and Best Female Vocalist.
«"Performing covers is a beautiful experience because of the interaction with the audience, but singing your own material is another level.", She confesses. Her single “Afuera de ti”, available on YouTube, is a clear example of her artistic maturity and her ability to convey raw and real emotions.
Alejandra is taking this time to continue creating and writing, reminding us that art is a constant awakening that gives meaning to life. Thank you, Alejandra, for allowing us a glimpse into your musical journey.
