LOCAL SOUNDTRACK 29: ATÓMIC presents its first album

By: Fernanda Morales

How wonderful it is to reunite for a new installment of "Local Soundtrack"! Each edition confirms that the San Miguel de Allende music scene is not only growing, but also consolidating at an incredible pace, attracting talents that fill us with pride and excite us.

On this occasion, the emotion is double: our dear friends from Atomic, the soul funk project made up of Paco Rivera and Pawis Valdés, are ready to release their first album, and they want the entire San Miguel community to be part of this great party.

LOCAL SOUNDTRACK Atómic san miguel

Atómic's inspiration comes directly from the corners of San Miguel de Allende, a city that becomes a muse for Paco and Pawis. Their musical influences are a sonic journey that ranges from the sophistication of Jamiroquai to the audacity of Depeche Mode, forging a unique style that has become the band's hallmark.

Their new album, an eight-song EP, promises to stir the hearts of all who listen. Paco Rivera emphasizes that the entire album is 100 percent original and imbued with San Miguel DNA, created in a homemade way and with all their heart. Therefore, the band extends a special invitation to the entire local community to be part of this unprecedented event, which is also an opportunity to strengthen ties and build community through music.

The launch concert will take place on July 26th in a space of profound cultural and emotional significance for the people of San Miguel: the El Sindicato Community Cultural Center (Recreo #4, Historic Center). This venue, located in the heart of the city, was the epicenter of private and community parties in the 1980s and 1990s, hosting everything from quinceañeras and graduations to unforgettable concerts. Its choice is no coincidence; it's a nod to the social and cultural history of San Miguel, a meeting point that will now vibrate with the new sounds of Atómic.

This Saturday, July 26th, get ready for a night filled with electronic beats, funk, and an unmistakable retro vibe. Their new EP, titled "Be Real," is a tribute to the sound of Minneapolis, the birthplace of legends like Prince, The Time, and Sly. Atomic promises a show that will have you dancing all night long, performing songs from their new album and featuring several surprises, including talented guest artists.

The night's lineup is guaranteed to be a party:

Paco Rivera

Pawis Valdés

Uriel Orozco

Ricardo Cortez (Bear)

DJ Peluzza

Charly Segura

To complete the experience, there will be a bar and delicious food by Luna de Queso, and the atmosphere will be more than guaranteed with the support of iconic places like La Hija, Cantina El Manantial, and Café Rama.

This event, a production of the prestigious Dear México studio, promises to be an unforgettable musical experience. Tickets are on sale online. boletocity.com and for $550 MXN (general admission) you can enjoy this great experience.
