A few days ago, Ángel Pacheco, manager of Common, invited us to experience the full wonder of this incredible place hidden among vineyards and nature, just 30 minutes from San Miguel de Allende.
Over 400 hectares surrounded by vineyards, lavender, olive groves, and endless skies. A place designed to disconnect from the noise… and reconnect with yourself.

From the moment we arrived, Ángel and his entire team greeted us with impeccable hospitality. Fresh lavender towels refreshed us after the hot drive, a warm welcome, and that feeling of knowing that someone had truly taken care of every detail before our arrival.
Afterward, we were taken to our tent. There are only 15 safari-style tents, inspired by that feeling of being far from everything, like in Africa, but with the design, sophistication, and comfort of a luxury hotel. Each one has a private jacuzzi, a terrace, and incredible views of the vineyards and surrounding nature. There are tents ideal for couples and others designed for sharing with friends or family.

And yes… Mango was obviously the happiest of all. From the moment we arrived, they were already waiting for him with a little bone and lots of love. He truly enjoyed every second of the experience.
That first afternoon the sky was spectacular. Although we had a cloudy weekend with light rain, it honestly made everything even more magical. The jacuzzi was already warm, the air smelled of damp earth, and vineyards stretched out before us.
That evening we went to the restaurant for dinner and the experience was incredible. Fernando Pindter in the kitchen and Lulu in mixology surprised us from beginning to end. We started with a delicious beet salad, followed by a perfectly prepared sea bass and a spectacular duck lasagna. And to finish, a passion fruit panna cotta that I'm still thinking about.
When we returned to our tent, the space had completely transformed. The closed tarpaulins created a much more intimate and cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing, disconnecting from the world, and simply enjoying the silence of the night. The bed was made, the lights dimmed, and lavender was sprinkled on the pillow… one of those little details that makes all the difference.

The next day we woke up surrounded by incredible colors and with a direct view of the vineyard. And then came one of my favorite moments: the Floating Breakfast. A tray floating above the jacuzzi with coffee, green juice, fruit, yogurt, and granola. Having breakfast like that, in silence, surrounded by nature… simply delicious.
Afterwards, we walked through the vineyards to the restaurant for a spectacular breakfast of chilaquiles with pork shank and a huitlacoche omelet. Everything at Omún strikes that perfect balance between comfort food and well-thought-out cuisine—elegant yet unpretentious.
Later, Ángel showed us some of the new things coming to Omún: a stunning-looking stone spa and a future 18-hole golf course that will definitely transform this destination even further.
We also saw one of the four-person tents. The design subtly changes to suit trips with friends or family, while maintaining that same feeling of privacy, comfort, and connection with the landscape.
We spent the afternoon by the pool and bar enjoying the scenery, the cocktails, and the relaxed pace of the place. And once again… Mango happily accompanied us everywhere.
At lunchtime they prepared a berry salad, salmon with vegetables and one of my favorites of the trip: a cornbread with coconut cream that was spectacular.
And just when we thought the day couldn't get any better… the bonfire arrived. In the middle of the vineyard, they had set up a fire pit surrounded by armchairs, wine, and an incredible cheese board. We watched the sun slowly disappear while listening to the birds and the sound of the wind through the vines. One of those moments that truly stays with you.

When we returned to our tent, one last surprise awaited us: Movie Night. The screen was ready, the atmosphere perfect, and we felt completely disconnected from the world, yet surrounded by comfort and nature. Honestly… it was the perfect way to end the day.
On Sunday we woke up relaxed, had some delicious enmoladas for breakfast, and said goodbye to Omún feeling refreshed. As if we had completely turned down the volume of the world for a weekend.
And that's exactly what makes this place special. Here you can do everything or absolutely nothing. Bikes, wine experiences, bonfires, day passes, mixology, spa treatments, gastronomy, yoga… even hot air balloon rides. It all depends on the kind of traveler you want to be.
You can just come to the restaurant and be surprised by the dish of the day… or live the complete experience.
Because Omún is not just a hotel. It's a beautiful respite amidst vineyards, nature, and silence.
