206 films will be screened at the GIFF for its #28 edition, which is coming very strong and is coming for you. Among those honored will be director Carlos Carrera, whose titles include "Ana and Bruno" and "The Crime of Father Amaro," as well as leading actress Ana Martín, whom we remember for countless productions such as "The Sin of Oyuki" and "I Am Your Owner."

Also among the Women in Film and Television tributes will be the outstanding Verónica Castro, who has dazzled the world of television for decades, as well as the pioneering producer Rosy Ocampo, who has graced our screens for years.

Another new feature is the screening of films created using Virtual Reality with Immersive Experiences and workshops that complement the learning process of these pioneering AI film tools. Heskil, a studio specializing in the intersection of film and video games, will also be presented.

The opening films will be "A Bright Future" by Uruguayan filmmaker Lucía Garibaldi, winner of the Tribeca Film Festival, and "Don't Leave the Children Alone" by Emilio Portes, with its intense psychological horror touch.

For musical entertainment, there will be a fun celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic singer Emmanuel, who has given legendary anthems to the Mexican land.

Now, as for something that breaks our hearts to write, but that we must continue to promote the struggle and its transcendental cause in the long documentary “Put Your Soul in your Hand and Walk” by the Iranian filmmaker Sepideh Farsi and whose protagonist, a young Palestinian woman, Fatima Hassouni, was cruelly murdered by the genocidal Israelis.

As for workshops, there will be the Film Costume Workshop for fashion designers with Bertha Romero, who has three Ariel Award nominations to her credit, as well as the "Women in Innovation" workshop, where Glenda Michel, Mary Carmen Albarrán, Gabriela Acosta and Nancy Salazar will share their visions of the audiovisual future in this world so intertwined with technology.

An edition that film lovers and those who aren't afraid to use the tools of the future to facilitate storytelling on the big screen will undoubtedly enjoy.
