PRIDE BEYOND A MONTH

Suddenly it's June and all the brands change their graphic identity to rainbow. Some are so brazen that they say they support the LGBTTIQ+ community all year round, even though it's just a marketing strategy and years ago they were known for displaying frankly homophobic attitudes.

The revenue obtained from this advertising strategy is known as “pink money” as its revenues grow by “allying” itself with members of the community for a short period of time and then not transcending the causes to which the brand was so strongly committed.

To avoid this, at LOCAL SMA Guide we try to give a voice to a wide variety of people and to avoid recommending events or brands that are related to such deplorable practices.

On the other hand, if what you are looking for is to celebrate the diversity of love and gender identity and that this can be found in many ways that we should not pigeonhole, these recommendations are for you and to show the pride that comes from having an open mind and an authentic lifestyle.

THE PROUDEST CELEBRATION

Sunday June 26th At 10 am a commemorative photo of diversity will be taken at 11 am in the main garden of San Miguel de Allende with the talented drag queens Cash Kween and Hannah Sicora.

Now if you are still in the mood and want to continue celebrating with them, you can continue with a Drag Brunch at The Restaurant (Sollano 16, Centro) at a cost of $200 in exchange for mimosas and a pride performance that you can't miss.

After a few days of this fun celebration, the meeting will be on Thursday June 30th in the Bekeb's Terrace by Fabiola Padilla sponsored by Mezcal for Todx Ojo de Tigre and some drinks specially created for these happy times.

And remember, friends, just because you wear rainbows or take photos at Pride doesn't automatically make you an ally. That comes with pride, consistency, and celebration throughout the year.

And so as not to end on a lecturing note, but rather a very queer one, we leave you with this playlist so you can start sharpening your heels, amix.
