What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of San Miguel? As locals, we could name many things, but we are sure that the first thing that non-locals think of is the parish church and its garden, the parks and cobblestone streets, and of course, the good food and the party. And of course, all of that is an essential part of the city, but there is another version that exists precisely around the main tourist attractions, places in the middle of nature waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.
With that in mind, today we want to tell you about a couple of spots where you can experience the tranquility and beauty of the countryside surrounding San Miguel, with different activities and even with spaces where you can stay and get to know the more natural side of SMA.

Organic Way Ranch

A ranch-school, an agroecological park, and a shop-cum-restaurant, we love the hybrid concept of this place because there is always something new to see and learn here. It offers rural horseback riding, bike tours, guided ranch tours, and educational workshops, both in town and on the farm, as well as workshops on the terrace and backyard gardening, cooking, seed saving, herbalism, water harvesting, natural dyes, green building, agroforestry, and ecosystem restoration.
It also has a completely organic food store and restaurant inside the park where you can experience farm-to-table food in the gardens, with stunning views of Los Picachos. Here you can stock up of the products from the Vía ranch and from a network of 250 small producers and farmers in the region. And if you want to stay in their cabins, they have the “Day and night at the ranch” package with which for $1,400 per person in double occupancy (or $1,800 individual) you can spend the night and have breakfast, lunch, dinner, a tour of the farm and tea by the campfire.
In addition, the first Sunday of each month they hold a rural market and agroecological products and handicraft market at Margarito Ledesma No. 2 in Colonia Guadalupe. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to find out what they have prepared!
