Many of the most memorable moments we have shared with family, friends or partners have been with a big screen as the center of attention. We have discovered so many stories that have made us feel all kinds of emotions, that cinema has a little corner in our hearts, and it hurt us when the contingency deprived us of that experience. Fortunately, a new art house has opened its doors in San Miguel de Allende to put a band-aid on our hearts and present us with new and exciting stories.
We talk about Cinematographic Compartment, a movie theater within Mezcal-Art (Calzada de la Estación no. 59, next to the Immigration offices) that seeks to reunite us around that unique cultural experience that we so lacked. This is an open and accessible space that offers a curatorship and a programming different from the commercial offer, with the intention of creating a community among enthusiasts of the seventh art.
Of course, we cannot forget that we are still in the midst of a pandemic, so CC is prepared with all the necessary sanitary measures, such as a limit of 10 seats available for its two daily performances from Thursday to Sunday, and controlled outdoor performances.
The idea of seeing contemporary Mexican cinema and foreign auteur cinema as it should be excites us a lot! Especially because of the outdoor screenings that Cinematographic Compartment will be held on Thursdays of each week. The cost of the ticket is $65 pesos or $50 with a discount, super affordable!
