Chronicles and Legends 07 The Ghost Girl of the Washhouses

Tests of courage seem to be rituals in which bravery and fear of the unknown are put to the test, which is why many locals gather at night at Los Lavaderos de San Miguel to summon a mischievous spirit.

This ghost belongs to little Carmelita, who long ago was playing in the area when suddenly the horse of a cart bolted, and the poor little girl was run over and killed instantly, leaving her mother and all who witnessed it in enormous grief.

Because little Carmelita was a very mischievous girl, her spirit remained in Los Lavaderos, ready to play tricks on anyone who dares to follow the ritual.

All you have to do is go to Los Lavaderos at dusk and, right there, say "Hey Carmelita, I want to play with you" and repeat it 3 times, when a tickling sensation can be felt in the palm of the hand by keeping them extended at waist height. There are many cases and witnesses who can attest to this sensation, among them Brenda Araiza, who so eloquently tells us about this otherworldly experience.

Carmelita's spirit can also manifest in other ways, such as with a laugh or by moving an object playfully, among the many inexplicable things that happen in San Miguel.
