HOLIDAYS IN SAN MIGUEL: EXPLORE IN A GROUP A full day of activities to do with family or friends

If Christmas is the ideal time to spend at home with family, New Year's Eve is perfect for going out for a walk, going out to town and discovering the wonders that our country has for us. Whether you come with your family or with your best friends, in San Miguel there is always something to do, so here we propose a day of recreational activities to complement your vacation or end-of-year getaway.

6 AM (Yes, very early but it's worth it)

Fly in a balloon!

Many have seen and toured San Miguel from the level of its beautiful cobblestone streets, but few venture to admire the “most beautiful little city in the world” from above. This may be your chance to see another “face”, breathing the freshest air and recharging yourself with the light of the newly risen sun. Check the availability of schedules with San Miguel Balloon, which has been providing safe rides to thousands of people since 1994. Tel. 4151142174.

12 PM

Professional photo shoot

If you're not satisfied with the photos taken by your family or friends, there's always the option of having a professional take them, especially in places worth seeing like SMA. Make the most of every corner of your trip to immortalize your visit with a photographic souvenir that will look great on your Instagram or even on Tinder. San Miguel, who can become your personal paparazzi, check out their stories to see what we mean.

Now, if you come as an engagement, to celebrate your wedding or as a guest at someone else's, there is another photographer that we like for how he captures those unique moments, which are not limited to parties because they also range from the typical walk through the center to tours of the most picturesque mansions and hotels; we are referring to Javier Blanco and its unmistakable lens.

3 PM

Private culinary experience

There are restaurants here to try a different one every day of the month, but there are few that offer you something different, an experience more than a dish. One of them is Aperi, the restaurant inside Two Houses Hotel, world renowned and award-winning for its refined selection of local ingredients to create three- or five-course seasonal menus, as well as a menu that is constantly being renewed. Take home a great taste of SMA by dining here with your travel group.

6 PM

Shopping and tasting experiences

You can't come to SMA without taking home more than a souvenir, because this is definitely where you'll find the largest selection of clothing, objects, accessories and other items made by local designers and producers, many of them even sustainable. Whatever you're looking for – and even what you're not – you'll find it in one of the many shops and boutiques that are all over the center, you just have to take the walk, and be careful, look carefully at the signs and names of the stores, because many can go unnoticed if they don't have windows or are inside other complexes. Some names we can recommend are:  Aurea, Holy Leaf, Twelve 18, Hidalgo Inn, San Ignacio Inn, Magnolia, Armida House, and of course the typical Crafts Market.

If your plans are more about living experiences, you can spend an afternoon tasting wines or craft beer at Eustolia or in the relatively new Soma District, to finish off with a night of signature cocktails in Clandestine

9 PM

Very Spanish night

Dinner with the best company is a must. For this important moment we recommend spending a themed evening in an authentic Spanish atmosphere within The Tupinampa, which constantly has flamenco music and dance shows, which you can accompany with some good tapas and house wines; it is the icing on the cake with which you will surprise your family or set the mood for the 'pre' if you come with friends.

Did you like the plan? If you go for any of these spots, don't hesitate to tag us in your stories as @localsmaguide and #LocalSMAGuide to share the magic of SMA with everyone!
