You've probably heard of "fine drinking" and wondered what it's all about. "Fine drinking" is a concept coined in mixology, a profession that goes beyond traditional bartending, seeking new combinations of ingredients and spirits to create unique cocktails with lots of personality.
“Fine drinking” is the lifestyle of a person who is genuinely interested in trying and drinking purposeful cocktails, usually with premium liquors and in a non-generic experience but rather a personalized one with attitude.
Mexico, and specifically cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey, have been a breeding ground for talents that have positioned their bars among the best in the world. But beware, bartenders and mixologists from other cities like Oaxaca, Mérida and of course, San Miguel de Allende, have been emerging as worthy candidates for those top positions on the specialized lists.

This whole introduction is relevant because in August a new edition of one of our favorite fine drinking events arrives, if not the favorite for everything it represents: Barra México.
Barra México celebrates creators and lovers of fine drinks. It is a platform led by women, inclusive, plastic-free and environmentally responsible. Here you can find the latest in cocktail trends, the best brands of whiskey, rum, sake, pisco, Mexican spirits and even wine and craft beers. This celebration includes different activities such as seminars for apprentices and enthusiasts, cocktail tours and pairing dinners for the general public.
This is the first time that Barra México will be held in San Miguel de Allende and we are very excited! It will take place from August 26th to 30th with different locations to be confirmed. There are different passes that give you access to the experiences:
