What is “eating well”? Although we may all have a different concept of what this means, we know that there are foods that are good for us and others that are not so good. On the one hand, we have products of plant origin and some of animal origin produced in an ethical and/or sustainable way, and on the other, we have all the processed products that are generally the most easily available, and with which large corporations have gotten to where they are.
Today, the idea of “eating well” has become synonymous with eating healthily, eating what is beneficial for our bodies. Beyond the fact that it has become a trend – based on the concepts of wellness and well-being (which involves other practices at a physical, mental and spiritual level) – it represents an evolution of consciousness that leads us to question our habits and opt for a positive change not only for ourselves but for the environment that surrounds us.
This evolution has led, for example, many restaurants to use only locally and organically sourced products as much as possible, supporting the community of nearby producers and suppliers in the process. Initially, it was the restaurants who had practically exclusive access to farms and orchards, but now, thanks to the popularization of these new dynamics of responsible consumption, there are more and more shops, markets and spaces that open their doors and shelves directly to all of us.
Below we list a number of places, including farms, markets and businesses, that offer everything you need to lead a healthier and more conscious lifestyle. Do you know of any others that we are missing? Write to us at Instagram – Facebook or to info@localguide.mx!
