MEXICO GASTRONOMIC GUIDE 2021 San Miguel restaurants among the best in the country

The Mexican Gastronomic Guide is an editorial project of Mexican cuisine in which, year after year, they select and highlight the great restaurants from all corners of the Republic. More than 100 restaurants are gathered in this annual publication that has become a definitive guide to knowing who is standing out in the restaurant industry, especially in a year that was very difficult for it.

Presented by S. Pellegrino, Nespresso and Larousse Cocina, the 2021 edition was unveiled last night in a virtual gala hosted by Claudio Poblete, founder and director of the platform Mexican cuisine where, to our delight and not so much to our surprise, we discovered that several of our favorite local restaurants are part of the coveted list! We are referring to:

Aperi

The open kitchen, a favourite of locals and foreigners, part of Dos Casas, adds one more to its recognition as a proactive space that encourages culinary creativity using raw materials from the region, highlighting the excellence in service to its diners and guests.

Marsala

For the second consecutive year, Chef Marcela Bolaño's flagship restaurant and first in San Miguel de Allende, receives this honorable mention thanks to its gastronomic proposal with "accents" as they call it, which is understood as passion and love for cooking.

Moxi

Hotel Matilda's iconic restaurant makes its appearance in the 2021 guide as a must-try for those living or visiting San Miguel. Its concept, which is well known for using local ingredients, has made it a top-notch culinary experience.

Bovine

This brasserie is part of the list of the great restaurants in Mexico this year thanks to its unmatched and infallible touch in its grilled Mediterranean cuisine, its fantastic atmosphere and its bar that always makes us come back.

Stroke 1810

Also for the second consecutive year, this casual and refined space that has hosted great moments with friends and couples, joins GMG 2021 because it always surprises us with its exquisite menu, its cocktails and its large terrace.

On behalf of the entire Local SMA Guide team, we would like to congratulate each of these restaurants for their strength, dedication, commitment and innovation within Mexican gastronomy and their contribution to the local economy, which make San Miguel de Allende a better place to live, visit and enjoy.
