Arriving at a new accommodation is always a toss-up, but believe me when I tell you that the first impression I had when I saw Royal Mines Hotel I should have won the coin toss!
At first I was surprised by its large size and the type of guests it hosted from all over the world. I also couldn’t help but notice its modern decor and, as a young person, the neon signs in its game room attracted me like a moth that inexorably approaches the light and can’t help but take selfies in front of the legend that reads “Together is a beautiful place to be.”

After getting over the initial euphoria, I was led to my rooms, which were characterized by their extreme hygiene as well as organic products that were given away for the obligatory skincare. Since it was late at night, I proceeded to do what a tired traveler usually does in her comfortable bed.

The next day, a couple of friends were waiting for me at the hotel's delicious buffet that included multiple Mexican food options as well as a delicious, fresh fish dish that became our favorite. My breakfast companions were the talented founder, Myrna Camacho of Blessed Project and the platform Local Guide as well as his faithful and charismatic canine companion Mango. Well, I forgot to mention that another of the benefits of this hotel is that they are pet friendly!

After this social and gastronomic exchange, I proceeded to visit the enormous gardens and halls of Real de Minas, where I was fortunate enough to witness and participate in the many workshops and conferences that the San Miguel Writers Festival offers with guests from both national and international levels.

This fascinating festival returned after the pandemic for the first time in person at this beautiful venue. Something that I really liked is that this type of accommodation has the openness and prestige for cultural and artistic exchanges that attract an incredible audience.
During one of the festival breaks, I ventured to explore the hotel facilities a little more and discovered that in addition to having a beautiful pool, almost at the end of the property there is an incredible bullring worthy of the best palenque concerts in San Miguel and also a quiet place where you can reflect.

It is worth noting that one of the most interesting aspects of the Hotel is the organic and sophisticated way in which it manages to combine modernity while managing to respect the historical aspect of the colonial.
Clear proof of this is the lot right in front of the lobby, whose plaque reads “On this lot on September 20, 1810, Don Miguel Hidalgo camped and took water,” thus creating an impressive link between us and our greatest hero of Independence.
So now you know if you want to come to a hotel where you will feel the essence of San Miguel in your blood, you have no better option than to stay at Royal Mines from the Mexico Real hotel group, whose catalogue includes Hotel El Santuario, Tierra y Amor, which actively support the preservation of the important bees, and the more recent Agua Bendita.
