We have already reached the tenth interview of Local Soundtrack And we begin the month of February, a month full of nature and lots of love. Thank you for reading us throughout these publications, where each month we share with you different bands or soloists that make San Miguel de Allende sound.

Today, for your ears we bring the Rabeats, a musical project that began 14 years ago in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The band is led by Rafa de la Vega, a young man originally from Coahuila, who has a very special connection with San Miguel, because since he was a child he has lived great experiences in San Miguel lands, meeting many friends.
It was 10 years ago that Rafa moved to the World Heritage City and here he promoted the “Los Rabeats” project, which is practically a collective of friends, where everyone participates with passion and makes music everywhere.

The members of the regular band are Micky Imanol on synthesizers, Rodrigo Vargas on guitar and Zurdo Ortega, drummer (who was also Camila's drummer) and Rafa is on bass and vocals. But it is worth noting that during live performances they sometimes have guests, such as violinist David Mendoza and different musicians from San Miguel, because they love to share the music "Todos son Rabeats".
Listening to rebeats is like entering a world of notes to the rhythm of electronic pop, with the great sound of guitars and a touch of synthesizers, with very danceable rhythms that make you jump like a bunny.
The members seek that each show be like an experience or “A journey that takes you up to the highest point, then you go down a little, then you go up.”

Rafa de la Vega shares that he really likes to sing and have a lot of fun with vocal harmonies and invite the public to join in as an exchange of experiences.
This year they are about to release an EP titled “Follow” which is made up of seven original songs and will soon be released on Spotify and social media. The songs reflect the life they have led in San Miguel, telling how the band has started from playing in bars to playing at weddings, baptisms and big events.
It should be noted that Rabeats have many songs written by different members, but no album as such had come to light, this will be the first.

During these 14 years of experience, the Rabeats have had the opportunity to participate in major events such as the Mexican Tennis Open, Formula 1, as well as a mini Jazz festival in San Francisco and for 2023 they hope to participate in more major festivals.
If you want to one day have that great opportunity to hear them live, they perform every Thursday at Rabeat Hole 33 located on Umaran Street. Also for the foreign community, they will be playing in the United States soon, such as in San Francisco, California and more.

We thank Los Rabeats for being part of this series of publications that aim to show off the talent found in San Miguel de Allende and thank you very much for reading us. Follow Los Rabeats on social media so you don't lose track of them.
See you next time!
