Also known as Timmyland in honor of its owner, Tim Sullivan, what began as an unusual housing project was transformed into a tourist attraction and a space for events such as raves. Inspired by Gaud\u00ed and the architecture of nature itself, this surreal little ranch surprises at every turn with its organic shapes and sculptural details such as snakes, a recurring ornamental element thanks to Tim's admiration for these beautiful animals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Staying here is like visiting a village of elemental beings that we have only seen in fairy tales. And it has everything you need to live, from a spacious, well-lit kitchen with groovy stained glass windows to a small sauna to relax and release toxins. It is worth taking a short detour from the centre to discover this surreal gem 19 km north of the city.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery<\/b><\/h3>\n

When you breathe and live for and by art and its power of expression, spaces like this are born. Anado McLauchlin was a fantastic and eccentric artist who sadly passed away recently, leaving a big hole in the heart of the San Miguel art and bohemian scene. Loved and admired by many, he dedicated his life to his passion for art, creating together with his partner Richard Schultz their own sanctuary known as Casa de las Ranas and The Chapel of Jimmy Ray, a gallery he started to show his work to the world and invite friends and emerging artists to exhibit and share their ideas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is another one of those spaces in SMA that transports you to a world where ideas flow freely and are incorporated into materiality in the form of murals, paintings and details that amaze the eye. The gallery remained closed during the difficult months of Anado's health, however, in honor of his legacy, it has reopened to receive visitors on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays around 10:30 am. To visit it, it is necessary to reserve in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n
