For our penultimate interview of the year, we spoke with David Mendoza, a talented violinist whose style is so unique that he manages to mesmerize his audience at every performance.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Mendoza comes from a family with strong artistic roots, including painters, architects, musicians, and singers. He describes his musical project as transcendental and deeply emotional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His style is a rich fusion of genres: he combines elements of classical and new classical music (the genre once called New Age) with touches of jazz. David confesses that the intensity of his melodies is very real: "There are people who even cry at my shows," he reveals, although he admits that the emotional impact is usually a spontaneous reaction he observes in the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David arrived in San Miguel de Allende shortly before the pandemic. It was a time of change when restrictions on street musicians were beginning to be imposed. Despite this, he had the opportunity to play on the streets for a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab"It was right when the government was changing and they started chasing away street musicians... I only had a chance to play on the streets for a month, and luckily, several musicians saw me during that month. By Monday, I already had a job in front of the Parish," David says about his quick rise in the local scene.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

David's influences are wide-ranging, notably including guitarist Jorge Guti\u00e9rrez, Michael Hop\u00e9, and others. His show is distinguished by its dynamic nature: it can be profoundly romantic or sadly melancholic, creating a rollercoaster of nuances and sounds, just like life itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist emphasizes that music makes life more bearable. His concerts are always unpredictable, as the sound and atmosphere are influenced by the venue, the mood of the audience, and, of course, the musician's own energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David confessed that, for a long time, music has been his salvation. He has witnessed the direct impact of his art, observing how the expressions of people who hear him briefly from the street or through a window change spontaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
