Our daily bread is that San Miguel continues to turn and function with its characteristic magic inspired by this incredible superfood that accompanies us through everything we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To honor the world's most iconic breads on their day, we'd like to recommend some of our local bakeries featuring their most famous creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had to start this list with the iconic one. Panio<\/a> <\/strong>from the Levain & Co family, led by Alberto Laposse and Sandra V\u00e1zquez, who seek to perpetuate the bakery trade that for 100 years has been passed down from generation to generation since its Italian-French origins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here we of course recommend trying in any of their branches (Relox, Atelier, Correo and Luci\u00e9rnaga) their crispy baguette made with sourdough and which is a symbol par excellence of French daily life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also coming from France, we have never been able to resist the pain au chocolat from the charming The Petit Four <\/strong>which also serves as a cafeteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charming spot founded by Paco C\u00e1rdenas and Norma Guerrero opened its doors in the late 1990s and has continued to offer aromas and flavors that melt the hearts of bread lovers for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are in the Historic Center of San Miguel today you cannot miss attending The Beehive Bakery<\/a><\/strong> which is considered the oldest in the entire town, having been founded in 1901 and having been distributing the best bread for more than a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we like most about their selection is the bread, which was introduced to Mexico during the Porfiriato and is popularly known as an ear because of its incredible resemblance to our famous body part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soft, fluffy and golden is how the Milk Knots of The Good Life <\/strong>Those that are highly recommended to be accompanied with butter and salt or even with honey and goat cheese taste exquisite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has characterized this bakery for more than twenty years and what has made it the town's favorite is the enormous care they put into their creations and in delivering the bread to you at its freshest and most delicate point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On San Sebastian<\/strong> In Calzada de la Aurora they stand out for their delicious empanadas filled with all kinds of local ingredients as well as our town has numerous branches of The Spike<\/strong> where we recommend their crispy and delicious bolillos that will leave no one hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Calle de Hidalgo and also on Ancha de San Antonio, there are a couple of family bakeries that are always packed due to their immense quality in the art of baking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, we finish with the creation of the quintessential Mexican bread, which is nothing more than the delicious shell whose surface is covered in icing and powdered sugar, and which we have to restrain ourselves from eating too much of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
