In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about local consumption. It is definitely a very valuable and important movement for the development of the economy of each region, city or town, as well as representing an opportunity to rethink the ways in which we acquire the products and services we need, and how that impacts those around us and the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While globalization has brought us closer to international brands and products, it has also, to a certain extent, undermined the growth of national companies, usually family-run, which find it difficult to compete against large transnational companies that are very well positioned in the collective imagination. On the other hand, and in good news, with the arrival of digital media, these family businesses have been able to make themselves known, as is the case of many that have gone 'viral' thanks to their creativity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The reality is that as long as we continue to follow a supply and demand model, we will find what we need, whether from a large supermarket or from an artisan who sells out of his home; although of course, our recommendation will always be to buy directly from the artisan or from some intermediary who is fair with his producers and creators.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
