A bit of history<\/b><\/p>\n

The history of Gay Pride, which is now much broader and more diverse, that is, LGBTQ+ Pride (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Queer and more), is based in the United States of the 60s, specifically in New York City towards the end of June 1969.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It all started with the Stonewall riots. The Stonewall Inn (which of course still exists and is an institution for everyone) was a bar frequented by the LGBTQ+ community in the Greenwich Village neighborhood. On the morning of June 28, 1969, a police force was deployed to intimidate and scare people, leading to a confrontation that was joined by neighbors and other members of the community who did nothing but defend themselves from police violence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This gave rise to the national and eventually global LGBTQ+ liberation movement, whose banner was, is, and will be the recognition of basic human rights for minorities and diverse identities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Pride Month is a global celebration that invites us to reflect on the advances in the area of rights, such as same-sex marriage \u2013 which in Mexico was recently approved in the states of Sinaloa and Baja California, making it 21 of the 32 states where it is legal \u2013, same-sex adoption, and more. In addition, for many members of the community, it is a month of celebration, of freedom to be who they are and share that joy with the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To commemorate this Pride Month 2021, we have prepared a very special playlist with some classic songs and others of the moment that remind us that life is a celebration and we must live it dancing.
