Independent film spaces are the equivalent of an ecological lung within a city full of shopping complexes with big premieres of superhero films, leaving little room for an intimate piece of independent production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank goodness that Compartimento Cinematogr\u00e1fico came to decongest the cinema routes with a space that emerged from the hand of Nina Rodriguez <\/a>who, after becoming programming director of GIFF, knew that one week of screenings was simply not enough to meet the demand for both national and independent cinema. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is how Compartimento Cinematogr\u00e1fico emerged with the premiere of the feature film \u201cSin Se\u00f1as Particulares\u201d by director Fernanda Valadez, an event that caused a great stir due to its strong immigrant theme and because it was filmed in Guanajuato. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival screenings, independent premieres, and Mexican films for children are the order of the day at this intimate venue, which is already a favorite with audiences. There are two formats: a small indoor movie theater with excellent audio and sound quality, and its outdoor counterpart with an inflatable screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While indoor performances offer a more individualistic experience for the spectator, outdoor performances offer the possibility of living among the audience and making comments in real time without fear of disturbing the person next to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both formats are enriching for Nina, who is always looking for that new film that invites reflection or surprises. Likewise, Mexican film premieres or screenings often feature special guests such as directors or actors who, at the end of the screening, happily mingle with the audience by resolving any doubts or concerns that their work has raised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With venues like the beloved \u201cBaticinema\u201d in Tepoztl\u00e1n about to close, it is very important to support this type of venue and to promote a culture of consuming local and independent cinema. A great initiative without a doubt to connect other indie theaters in the country and thus create a network of non-commercial theaters unique in Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
