Regardless of the commercial part, it is in our veins not to fear death but to respect it and even consider it a friend, which is instilled in us from a very early age in our basic education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few years ago, the La Calaca Festival was started in San Miguel. It was a lot of fun and one of the alternative festivals to Burning Man, held year after year in Black Rock City. Among the volunteers of the festival were Fer Tovar and Tina Bueche, who immediately had great working chemistry and perceived an interesting factor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turns out that a few years ago, the festival proposed some activities for children but since they were not its main audience, the focus was not on them and the dynamics lacked organization, so the two friends decided to create a Day of the Dead festival that was focused directly on the child audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is how the idea of creating the \u201cFestival of the Living and the Dead<\/a>\u00bb which only a few years ago became a reality and was a huge success. One of the first achievements of the event was that they were the first to bring VR or Virtual Reality to San Miguel de Allende; technology that would later be adopted by other events such as GIFF. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such technology created a sensation and a stir among the children attending, as did the use of the digital pen that allowed them to capture their fantasies on a more realistic level. And it is not only technology that makes up this beautiful festival for children, but also the emphasis on local traditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is how, year after year, children can make 45-centimeter puppets personalized with funeral motifs and take their sculptures\/puppets home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the already famous talent show will also be held to the delight of children, with more than 50 minors already registered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other surprises await our children with the creation of a community mural where a sketch of skeletons and catrinas has already been drawn and is waiting for the color and decorations that only the imagination of children is capable of achieving through graffiti. This traveling mural will be displayed in an exhibition in February inside La Casona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The venue for the second consecutive year will be held in Fine Arts, The Necromancer<\/a> which is always an open place for art and culture for all ages. We can't wait to see you and your little one this Sunday, October 23 at 11am!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
