World Cocoa Day in San Miguel

There is much more to cocoa than just being the main ingredient for the much-loved chocolate, and this July 7th, the day on which its international day is celebrated, is the best excuse to learn about all the properties of this special food of tropical origin.

Legend has it that in the ancient lands of Mesoamerica, the feathered serpent or Quetzalcoatl descended upon mortals to help them after seeing their suffering on earth. Moved by the sight of their suffering, this benevolent God decided to offer them a great gift to make their lives sweeter.
