St. Cecilia mass is the common name of a solemn mass in G major by the Romantic French composer Charles Gounod. Composed in 1855, the mass is scored for three soloists, mixed choir, orchestra and organ. The official name is Messe solennelle en l'honneur de Sainte-Cécile, in homage of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music.
This performance will feature outstanding vocal soloists soprano Yamel Domort, tenor Orlando Muñiz and bass Esau Álvarez.
Mexico's finest organist, Adrián Felipe Rojero, will perform with the orchestra as well as present an opening set of organ works, including a lovely arrangement of Gounod with soprano Yamel Domort.
The Chorale will also be joined by La Camerata de la Nueva España.
